Books are our best friends. Seems familier, right? Many of us are book reader and love reading. World Book and Copyright Day is a celebration to promote the enjoyment of books and reading. Each year, on 23 April, celebrations take place all over the world to recognize the scope of books - a link between the past and the future, a bridge between generations and across cultures. It was first celebrated on April 23rd, 1995. The original idea was conceived in 1922 by Spanish writer Vicente Clavel Andrés as a way to honour the author Miguel de Cervantes. It was first celebrated on 7 October 1926, Cervantes' birthday, before being moved to his death date, 23 April, in 1930. 23 April is a symbolic date in world literature. People across the globe celebrate the occasion and come together to raise awareness about environmental protection and acknowledge the global climate crisis which is getting worse day by day. Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar also known as B.R. Ambedkar was born on 14th April 1891, in Mhow, British Indian Empire (Present- Madhya Pradesh, India. His father's name was Ramji Maloji Sakpal.  Every year 3rd April is observed as Chhattrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti. Chhattrapati Shivaji Maharaj (Shivaji Bhonsale) was born on 19th February, 1630- 3rd April 1680, was an Indian ruler and a member of the Bhonsle Maratha clan. Shivaji carved out an enclave from the declining Adilshahi sultanate of Bijapur that formed the genesis of the Maratha Empire. In 1674, he was formally crowned the Chhatrapati of his realm at Raigad Fort. Over the course of his life, Shivaji engaged in both alliances and hostilities with the Mughal Empire, the Sultanate of Golkonda, Sultanate of Bijapur and the European colonial powers.
